機器不完美

很多人覺得電腦可以信任，程式是聰明的，我寫了30年的程式，看法剛好相反，電腦是不可靠的，程式bug永遠比你找到的多一隻。正因為機器不完美，人類才有價值，至少客服中心才有存在的必要，試想一個網路永遠不停，程式永遠精準，機器永不停歇的社會，不就可以無人化了嗎? 正因為機器不完美，所以需要人來發現錯誤，解決問題，撫慰人心，這不僅對預算有限的小型群體成立，對資金龐大有五萬名員工的Google也成立。

使用機器提升工作效率，同時了解機器的限制，避免全面信任的危險行為，也許是一個資訊化時代需要的認知。

在我的部落格可以看到回饋清單的功能，它可以列出最新針對你部落格的回應，因為有些回應可能是針對你一個月前或更舊的部落格文章，而你可能不會再回去看這些較舊文章是否在最近收到回應，有了清單，此問題迎刃而解。即使針對你最近發表的文章，這個清單功能也很有用，讓你快速瀏覽與閱讀這些回應。

回饋清單功能本身是RSS 2.0 XML，所以也可以用Firefox RSS 或 Google Reader 抓取閱讀，非常方便。

步驟:

不要讓MSN奪走你的寫作能力

現在如何開始
1. 至 http://www.blogger.com/ 申請一個部落格。

建議以你的學號 (s開頭) 作為部落格網址，部落格名稱可以自行命名。

2. 測試一下，可以寫 "Hello World"，或是一篇短文。

3. 建立一個連結到課程網站 http://iapblog.blogspot.com/
建議你使用右上角"自訂"功能，新增一個區塊。

一個區塊內可以置放多個連結。

4. 日後請將你的隨堂練習與作業寫在你的 blog, 然後到
Homework 或 Lab 的Comment 登錄作業blog網址就可以了.(實例)。

請勿將整個作業直接寫在老師部落格的Comment處。

5. 尊重智慧財產權，引用他人文章須註明出處。

並且應該合乎學術常規，以合理的方式引用。

注意事項

a. blog需正確設定時區顯示時間。
b. 請測試他人可否留言(comment)。以方便留下回應意見。

電資學院將擺設公共藝術作品，過程中無意引發了是否要置放愛迪生(Edison)象徵物的討論。愛迪生真的是發明大王嗎?

其實我們今日享受的電力，馬達，日光燈全部都是特斯拉(Tesla)的發明，Edison 藉由他的權勢攻擊抹黑Tesla 的創意，甚至為了貶低Tesla發明的電力系統，以極為荒謬的電殛流浪狗與馬匹的當眾實驗，試圖告訴世人，特斯拉發明的交流電是危險的，他的直流電才安全，藉此操弄媒體與大眾的無知。其實安全與否，不在交流或直流，而是電壓高低，另外在電力輸配的考量下，可以容易變換電壓的交流電才真正可行，這也正是我們今日所使用的電力系統。當Tesla發明雷達系統觀念，以對抗德國潛艇攻擊美國商船，然而愛迪生卻極力勸阻美國國防部，不可聽信Tesla，以致於過了四分之一世紀，美國人才終於實現Tesla的雷達構想，然而已有不少無辜商船被德國潛艇擊沉。

Tesla 他才是19~20世紀最偉大的發明家，我們在今日依然用著他所發明的電力系統，馬達，然而幾乎沒有人知道這是他的貢獻。Tesla在86歲過世，死時身無分文。

儘管普羅大眾完全沒有聽過Tesla，科學界卻深切了解Tesla真正的學理原創性與洞察自然的思維，因此磁場單位，便是使用 T，讓後世永遠紀念 Tesla，正如電壓單位使用 V，紀念義大利人伏特(Volta)一般。

ps: 愛迪生發明了電椅，就是美國處死犯人的刑具。

注意到了嗎? Google Docs Excel 沒有儲存鍵

幾個月前，使用 Google Docs Excel ，文件打完後想要儲存，卻發現沒有儲存鍵。原來，只要打進去的內容，Google Docs Excel 都立即儲存，用完後直接離開就可以了，不必再按儲存鍵，真方便。萬一，這次打進的只是草稿，事後想洗掉，沒關係，只要使用版本回復，就可以倒退回去先前的版本，使用者不必擔心。

儲存是古老的電腦設計概念，自有計算機語言就存在了。今日以使用者為中心的時代，其實"儲存"鍵是多餘的，使用者直覺認為打字進去的內容，電腦不就應該記住嗎? 停電，斷線，被登出應該都無礙。Google Docs Excel 驗證了這點。
